The Brief

From the outset, Shoosmiths recognised that it needed a client suite befitting a leading city law practice and as such, it must offer the very best in audio visual capability. The solution had to be intuitive to use, and provide exceptional flexibility in both the staff office and the client suite.
The firm decided to implement audio visual solutions in its main client waiting area, two staff -breakout spaces and the 10-strong client meeting suite. After submitting a comprehensive and competitive bid, Viewpoint was chosen to provide the audio visual and multimedia solution as part of a wider interior design and fit-out of Shoosmiths’ new 40,000 sq ft office.

The Solution

Meeting Rooms

The same touch screen control panels appear in four other meeting rooms, all of which have audio and video conferencing capabilities to provide additional flexibility for both internal and external meetings. These rooms have been fitted out with 75” LED screens, laptop connections and digital TV.

A dedicated video-conferencing room is also included within the suite and includes a 46” LED TV with flush-mount ceiling speakers, ceiling-mounted microphone arrays and a wall-mounted camera.

Close liaison with the design and fit-out contractor ensured that all client suite rooms have adequate sound-proofing, a particularly important feature to maintain privacy and avoid distraction for others when the audio and video systems are in use.

Conference Room

Shoosmiths’ main conference room is made up of four separate meeting rooms with bi-fold partition walls and the AV mirrors this, either working as one system or four individual ones. A very complex system spanning TV, audio and video has been made easy to use with simple touch screen AMX control panels. Any source device can be displayed on any screen across a combination of the rooms and audio-conferencing systems extend automatically to pick up voice from the entire audience.

Training Room

The suite’s training room, which will play host to seminars across Shoosmiths’ 10-strong office network, uses a concealed ceiling-mounted LCD projector and electric front projection screen, both of which are controlled remotely from the trainer’s desk.

Waiting Area

Shoosmiths’ client waiting area and two staff break-out spaces have also been fitted with LED screens for digital TV and presentation capabilities.
